Washington, DC – Capitol Funding Solutions (CFS) is pleased to announce that we have secured $33,133,500 in funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) for Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC). Funded by the Coal Recommissioning and Modernization Broad Agency Announcement, the project was selected from a highly competitive applicant pool of projects that will expand rural capacity for coal production and drive domestic energy affordability. This is the second of two awards that CFS has secured from the BAA, among a total of six recipients.
ABOUT THE AWARD
Project: Kyger Creek Station Modernization and Resiliency Project
Ohio Valley Electric Corporation will utilize the funding to modernize its five coal-fired generating units at the Kyger Creek Station in Cheshire, Ohio.
